Finding Your Inner Bad Ass

One of the many things I love about doing boudoir is getting to meet people and getting to know their story. We see people from all walks of life. Different struggles, different successes but all beautiful none the less. Not to mention bad ass. Our session with Katie will be one I will never forget as she is a true bad ass. Believe it or not, there can be more than one Katie that is a bad ass, so this story isn't about me.

Self confidence is not something that comes easily. It requires you to see yourself in a different way. Sometimes it's hard to get out of your head about how we look, act or think. When Katie came to us, she radiated confidence. This is something we don't see very often. As we got to know her, we found out she has a passion for roller derby. How bad ass is that?! I didn't even know that was a thing around here. She even coaches little kiddos, creating more little bad asses. She also gave us a lesson on heavy metal and the etiquette of mosh pitting. We still have a lot to learn in this area, but we will let her be the expert in that area. If that wasn't enough to make her a bad ass, she's super crafty!

These red bow pictures? Yeah, she made the bow. Confidence wasn't always something she had though. Like most of us, she also had self-image issues. It wasn't until she did her first boudoir session that she started to gain this radiating confidence.

Gaining your self confidence takes a lot of hard work. It isn't something that happens over night. You will have high times and low times. Something that has helped me gain confidence is saying one positive thing about myself. It doesn't have to be about how you look either. Not everything is about looks. Some people aren't confident in the way they do things. Try to find the positive in every situation and you will start to see your frame of mind change. How we talk to ourselves is more important than we realize. If you wouldn't say it out loud to another person, then we shouldn't be talking to ourselves that way either. If we could just be a bit more kind to ourselves, imagine all of the things we could confidently conquer.

Be kind to your mind. Find your inner bad ass.
